Well hello. I think I'm getting the hang of this blogery. After downloading programs, and scanning my harddrive for photos, I think I am equipped for some bloging. What better way to share photos and update you on the goings on? Well, snapfish probably, but this is new and different and could be fun! But make sure to post some comments, or I'm just going to ramble on.
So last weekend was my birthday weekend, and Allie pulled off quite a festive few days. Friday night we hit Valentino's Italian Ristorante in downtown Mo-town for some dinner, and then stuck around the piano bar for a couple Billy Joel and John Lennon favorites. After a couple drinks, some vacuous service, and a late starting piano player, we hoisted up our Depends and went home for some cookies and milk. http://www.dailyrecord.com/entertainment/entertainment2-valentinos.htm
Saturday I laid on the couch quite steadily as Allie prepared the apartment for our evening's guests (no she didn't clean for you, James). For dinner, Mom, Dad, Maureen and Ken Card, and the granparents Canavan came over for a fun dinner party of steak, beer, and egg-celent conversation.
Sunday, Greg showed up in the morning, and I was led by he and Allie to the car blindfolded. Halfway down route 80, fun sensory depravation turned to nausea, so out was the blinfold. We passed the exit for Maywood, over the George, past the exit for Manhattan, and the next thing I knew, we were in the Bronx! Most people might not be quite as thrilled as I to find themself in the Bronx, but I knew there had to be some pinstripes waiting for us off that Deegan, so to the game we went. At the big bat, Mike Casey appeared out of nowhere (well, not out of nowhere, out of Central Long Island via Bronxville). Yes, thaaat Mike Casey http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-spyside244231928apr24,0,7236686.story. Let's hear it for him folks, that's a fine piece of journalism. After the Casey sighting, Dad and Nancy appeared from a cement stairway and our party had gathered! Well, that is, until we found our tremendous 3rd row, 3rd base seats and there were 2 stary-eyed Cards waiting for us. So it was a party of 8 at Yankee stadium, and it was amazing. So the Yanks took it 12-2 and the birthday weekend was capped! (PICS TO COME).
After a long week, it is now time for another birthday weekend. Yes, Sunday is Allie's birthday and if you didn't know that, you better send her an e-card now http://www.hallmark.com and just send cash, it's too late to do any shopping. Don't worry, I'll be taking plenty of pictures this weekend! :)
One last thing, if you haven't contributed for the AIDS walk that we're doing on May 15th, you can still go to this site and contribute. Thank you!!!!
Have a good weekend!
